CHARLESTOWN TOWNSHIP
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS’ MEETING
JUNE 21, 1993

The Board of Supervisors of Charlestown Township held a second monthly meeting on Monday, June 21, 1993, at the Charlestown Elementary School, Charlestown Road, Devault.

Present: Irene W. Ewald, Chairman; John C. Martin, Jr., Vice Chairman; Vincent G. Kling, Sr., Member; Surender S. Kohli, P.E.; John D. Snyder, Esq.; Thomas F. Oeste, Esq.; Ruth W. Buckwalter, Secretary; those on the attached attendees’ list.

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm.

Announcements: The Chairman announced the following: June 15 – an Executive session was held to review Charlestown Meadows and Eastwick Plans in preparation for this evenings meeting; also, the restoration of the communications tower on Valley Hill Road was completed in three hours on June 15.

The first item of business was to award the bids for Bituminous Material and Stone which had been reviewed by the Township Engineer. The lowest responsible bidder for both materials was Glasgow Inc. Mr. Martin made the motion to award both bids to Glasgow Inc., Mr. Kling seconded, the motion carried unanimously. It was noted that the bid from Great Valley Materials was considered incomplete due to the fact that no unit price for patching material was noted in the bid documents.

The next item on the agenda was the Eastwick Hearing. The Chairman turned the meeting over to John D. Snyder, Esq., who stated that this is a continued session of the public hearing held to consider the application of the Eastwick representative for conditional use approval. Mr. Snyder recommended holding the hearing in both aspects of the plan, that is, the conditional use application aspect and the Subdivision/Land Development aspect. Saul A. Behar and Vincent G. Kling, Jr. represented the applicants. A Court Recorder took the minutes. Mr. Vincent G. Kling, Sr., has dismissed himself from this hearing. Items discussed: size of lots, deed restrictions, parcel B, trees, tree removal and replacement, common drives, landscape plan, horse trails, configuration of drives, sand mounds, lot 9 - tenant house. The hearing will be continued at the July 6, 1993, Board meeting. Mr. Snyder will advertise.

Due to the late hour, the continued public hearing on Charlestown Meadows was rescheduled for the July 1 9th Board meeting to be held at the Charlestown Elementary School beginning at 7:00 pm.

The Chairman entertained a motion to adjourn. Mr. Kling moved to adjourn the meeting, Mrs. Ewald seconded the motion, it so carried. The meeting was adjourned -10:50 p.m.
