PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors of Charlestown Township will hold a public hearing to consider passage of the following ordinance during its regular meeting on January 3, 2022 at 7:00 PM at the Great Valley Middle School, 255 N. Phoenixville Pike, Malvern PA, 19355. The Board will consider the ordinance and take public comment at the hearing and possibly enact the ordinance immediately following the public hearing as part of its regular meeting on the same night. A copy of the ordinance is available for public examination without charge or may be obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof during regular business hours at the Township Offices located at 4030 Whitehorse Road, Devault, PA 19432. A summary of the text of the ordinance is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CHARLESTOWN TOWNSHIP CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 27 ZONING, PART 9A NC-2 NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL-2 DISTRICT, SECTION 27-9A02 (“USE REGULATIONS”), SUBSECTION 1.C. (“CONDITIONAL USES”) TO ADD NEW SUBSECTION (6) LABORATORY FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AS A USE PERMITTED BY CONDITIONAL USE AND AMENDING PART 2 DEFINITIONS, SECTION 27-202 (“DEFINITION OF TERMS”) TO REPLACE THE TERM “LABORATORY” WITH “LABORATORY FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT” AND AMENDING PART 9 NC-1 NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL-1 DISTRICT, SECTION 27-902 (“USE REGULATIONS”), SUBSECTION 1.C. (“CONDITIONAL USES”) TO ADD NEW SUBSECTION (5) FLEX SPACE AS A USE PERMITTED BY CONDITIONAL USE

Section 1 amends Section 27-9A02, Subsection 1.C of the Code of Charlestown Township (“Code”) to add “Laboratory for scientific research and development” as use in the NC-2 District

Section 2 amends Section 27-202 of the Code to amend the definition of “Laboratory For Scientific Research and Development”

Section 3 amends Section 27-902 Subsection 1.C of the Code to add “Flex Space” as a use in the NC-1 District.

Section 4 of the Ordinance provides an effective date five (5) days from enactment.
