Goals, Projects, and Tasks

Place Holders:

  1. All - Reminder of EAC-initiated projects for next 6+ months: Brightside Farm Riparian Buffer Planting, Stream Naming (un-named tributaries), Adelphia Gateway Project monitoring, Green Business Award, PA Turnpike Sound Wall Group, Charlestown Park Native Trees, Education Series.
  2. Audubon Birdtown – on hold until Audubon re-commences program.
  3. Notices:
    • All 2020 meetings will be held in the Choral Room #154 at the GV Middle School except for January 8th which will be held in the Middle School Library
    • Due to the Schools being closed April 6th our monthly meeting will be held on the 15th of April.
    • Our Reorganizational meeting will be held during the January 8th 2020 meeting.

  3. Goodman – Adelphia Gateway Project (pipeline) – Update. Permits have been issued.
  4. Armstrong & Goodman – update on riparian buffer project – Pigeon Run on Brightside Farm Park. Obtained BoS approval. Planting has occurred.
  5. All: Community Education series future suggestions – winter topic: 2) Impacts of plastics on our environment and our bodies (Armstrong);
    1. Native vs Invasive plants: Foraging and cooking (Christa Reeves, Pres. of Lehigh Valley Chapter of PA Native Plant Society);
    2. Reducing waste: Composting and Recycling (Meg Solomon),
    3. Trees are your friend (lowers carbon footprint, lowers crime): select: virtual walk in the woods, tree care, trees for the garden or house, Bonsai (Findlay will find speaker),
    4. Wild Neighbors: Loving, protecting, and peaceful coexisting with wildlife (Phila Metro Wildlife Center);
    5. Stormwater runoff and wells on private property (Nesspor);
    6. Management of streams on private property (Goodman).
  6. Armstrong & Goodman – update on Charlestown riparian buffer ordinances and consistency with State Code.
  7. Findlay and Meg Solomon– More effective & trackable ways to use our volunteer lists. Enhance our presence on the Twp. website.
  8. Assign township newsletter articles for January 15 deadline.
  9. DCNR Pollinator Habitat program-Project Wingspan – Brightside Farm Park – application.
  10. Notice: Chester County Water Resources Authority is working to update “Watersheds”, Act 167 SWP, model ordinance and the Chesapeake Bay Action Plan. Questionnaire.
  11. Goodman submitted application for PECO Green Region Grant.
