A budget work session was held October 28, 2013 at the Township Office, 4030 Whitehorse Road, Devault, PA. Frank A. Piliero, Chairman, Michael J. Rodgers, Vice Chairman, Kevin R. Kuhn, Charles A. Philips, Hugh D. Willig and Linda Csete, Township Manager were present along with Parks & Rec Chairman Bob Jones and Trail Committee Chairman Sue Staas.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M.
The Board reviewed the budget draft prepared by the Township Manager. The budget will be adjusted to include changes discussed this evening. The revised draft will then be distributed to the Board prior to the November 4, 2013 Supervisors meeting where it will be reviewed and Mrs. Csete authorized to advertise it and post it on the Township website.
Mr. Kuhn moved to adopt a new policy to restrict official website and newsletter entries to items directly relating to the government of the Township. Mr. Philips seconded. Mr. Piliero called for discussion, and there being none, called the vote. All were in favor.
Mr. Philips moved to include a donation of $50,000 in the 2014 budget and an additional $50,000 in the 2015 budget to the Friends of the East Whiteland Volunteer Fire Association to be used for the construction of the new firehouse. Further donations beginning in 2016 will be considered after reviewing financial data while the project is underway. Mr. Kuhn seconded. Mr. Piliero called for discussion, and there being none, called the vote. All were in favor.
Mr. Piliero announced that the Board would hold an executive session directly following the budget work session this evening to discuss real estate matters.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M. The next meeting is scheduled for November 4, 2013, 7:30 P.M. in Room 154 of the Great Valley Middle School.
