BOARD OF SUPERVISORS’ MEETING
JANUARY 19, 1993
MINUTES

The Charlestown Township Board of Supervisors held their second meeting in January on Tuesday the 19th at 7:00 pm at the Charlestown Elementary School, Charlestown Road, Devault.

Present: Irene W. Ewald, Chairman; John C. Martin, Jr., Vice Chairman; Vincent G. Kling, Member; Thomas F. Oeste, Esq.; Surender S. Kohli, P.E.; Ruth W. Buckwalter, Secretary; those on the attached attendee list.

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm.

Announcements: Mrs. Ewald informed those present that Harold F. Pyle was in the l.C.U. of the Paoli Memorial Hospital. A letter of encouragement was signed and sent to him. Jan. 12 - Mrs. Ewald attended a meeting with the East Whiteland Fire Co, and noted this Fire Co. is looking for a location for a substation; Mrs. Ewald attended a meeting having to do with the Merriwether Plan.

Prior to this meeting, the Planning Commission Chairman had recommended Ned Hasselguist be reappointed to serve on the Commission for another term. Mr. Kling moved to approve the reappointment, Mrs. Ewald seconded the motion. The motion so carried.

The Chairman turned the meeting over to Thomas F. Oeste, Esq., to continue the Merriwether Conditional Use Hearing. Mr. Nagle, representing Merriwether, requested the Hearing be deferred to the February 1st meeting and submitted an oral time extension to February 28, 1993.

Vincent G. Kling, Jr., representing the applicant, requested the Eastwick Conditional Use Hearing be deferred to the February 1st meeting. He submitted a Conditional Use Application Project Summary and an oral time extension to February 28, 1993. Due to the relationship of the Eastwick representative, Vincent G. KIing, Sr., is recusing.

At this time, the Chairman called for a recess to await the Charlestown Meadows agents.

At 8:00 pm, the Chairman called the meeting to order and turned the meeting over to Thomas F. Oeste, Esq., for the continuation of the Charlestown Meadows Conditional Use Public Hearing. The Hearing concentrated primarily on the traffic control report and the possible locations of Newcomen Road. The minutes were recorded by a Court Reporter. This Hearing will be continued on Monday, February 1 5th at 8:pm at the Charlestown Elementary School.

All business completed, Mr. Kling moved the meeting be adjourned, Mrs. Ewald seconded the motion. The Chairman adjourned the meeting - 10:35 pm.
